This is a family owned and operated home alarm company that was created all the way back in 1919. They provide many different things like commercial, residential and medical alert systems, CCTV surveillance and Safe & Lock service plans and products. They currently hold A+ Rating with the Better Business Bureau and have since 1999. On top of all these services they offer, they actually own and operate their very own emergency response center in New York. They basically only service the upper New York areas and are known to charge extremely high prices to finally get your setup running smoothly. They insist that they can safe-guard your entire family with their comprehensive setup. While this may be true, it is also no surprise that you can get the same level of protection from a top national company for much less.

The company founder, John A. Doyle began providing protection services for the people of Rochester many decades ago. Fast forward to today and Doyle provides some of the most customized packages in upstate New York.  Their emergency response center is actually a Five Diamond Certified U.L. Listed monitoring center and is professional staffed 24/7. That means that all the employees at the response center must live up to the tedious government certification standards. They are known for providing unique, individual-based kits using the highest quality equipment installed by their professional technicians.

Whether you need the residential, commercial, or medical service, they guarantee that you will receive the highest quality equipment and 24-hour customer service support. The Total Connect package gives you the ability to manage your home from anywhere with an internet connection using a simple mobile smart device. You will be able to arm and disarm your protection, adjust the temperature, control your surveillance cameras and even turn lights on or off remotely. You can also opt-in to receive text message notifications to inform you when someone enters or leaves your home, if your devices have been armed or disarmed, if a possible flood is detected, power outage, temperature fluctuation and if any motion is sensed in your protected areas. You are able to get short video clips sent straight to your phone to help monitor your kids or pets while you’re away. This is a great tool if you want to add a safety system to a vacation residence or investment property.

They provide customers with the option to purchase either a landline or a wireless setup.  With both options they require that their customers pay for all the equipment in full at the time of the installation.  They do have quite a bit of flexibility with their five different packages:

  • $25/monthly price
  • 1 Lynx Touch 5200 panel
  • 2 Door or Window sensors

The lifetime warranty that they offer to all of their customers is quite a rare service that is not found with most other players in this industry. Another thing to note is that just like ADS Security, if for some reason you wish to terminate your service they will only require you to pay 75% of your remaining balance. As you probably already know, most will require a full buy-out of your contract.rochester new york company building

For a completely wireless setup the initial fees are usually around $800 after everything is all said and done. If you do not need wireless and only wish to use your home phone landline, the inital equipment and setup costs are in the $500-$600 range. This does not include the monthly monitoring fees or additional devices you may want to add to your current package. Both options will cost around $30 per month for 3 years and that covers all monitoring and maintenance fees.

Doyle Security Products use the popular Honeywell equipment for all of their wireless home equipment. Home automation is a feature offered by most new and modern devices through their apps which allow for remote accessing, text notifications, home automation, and even live surveillance feeds. Honeywell uses a popular app named “Total Connect” that offers easy home management through any smart device or computer. Total Connect has had a few problems with users in the past, and many still claim that it has a couple bugs to work out as far as usability. I wouldn’t be surprised to see this bugs get fixed rather quickly as this mobile app is used by many other big names in the industry who are all obviously working toward giving their customers the best experience.

While many people do think that their packages are a little bit too expensive compared to other providers, they do have some credentials that can really help you trust this company. Doyle New York is a part of many large safety-based associations such as:

  • NetOne
  • The National Fire Prevention Association
  • Central Station Alarm
  • American Society of Industrial Safety
  • Electronic Security Association
  • Better Business Bureau
  • Underwriters Lab
  • Rochester Business Alliance

Doyle Customer Service

The reviews are mostly positive and that is because of a few factors that set this company apart from the rest of the crowd. There is more than one testimonial talking about how well trained and helpful their professional technicians are. Reviewers commonly note that these techs are incredibly knowledgeable and are as helpful as possible whenever there’s a problem. After installation is complete, the techs will make sure that each customer knows the in’s and out’s to their new setup, as well as all the steps involved to maintain it’s proper function. Even small minute details like the technician’s wearing booties when entering your home to cover their shoes really show how much this company cares about their customers. The general consensus is that they are almost always on-time, efficient, and a pleasure to work with. The customer service and support staff over the phone are just as well-trained as the in-house technicians and they are just as helpful over the phone.

If you currently reside and live in the upper New York region, need a home alarm setup, and have several hundreds of dollars to invest upfront for a setup, then Doyle really is one of the best companies in the Rochester region to think about. However, if you do not live in the area, plan on moving, or just want to find a cheaper alternative, you really should look into other national top home alarm system providers.
